Animal Man #7

This series has been one of the more under-exposed series among the "New 52," which despite resoundingly positive reviews hasn't quite met the level of acclaim the top 10 on Diamond sales charts. The title puts Buddy Baker in darker situations than he's been before, dealing with the underbelly of his powers, while also juggling the strains of raising a family.

Episode 17: Opening ‘Pandora’s Box’ in the New 52

Back in January DC finally provided a name for the mysterious, hooded woman who has maintained frequent, lurking appearances strung throughout their relaunched line of titles. The character, who first appeared in Flashpoint, is largely responsible for the realignment of the multiverse in the DCU, creating a storyline cause and effect of the DCU status quo. That character's name is Pandora, and in the sixth issue of Justice League, released this week, a back-up story featuring an exchange between the Phantom Stranger and Pandora is given as a bonus.

I, Vampire #6

As one of the newer series to come out of the DC relaunch, I, Vampire has delivered a vampiric dose of horror into the DCU over its first five issues. With a crossover with Peter Milligan's Justice League Dark looming, issue six of this series was released alongside the latter title last week to help kick-off one of DC's first crossover stories within its new status quo. The question left to answer though is how well this book, and its first story arc for that matter, were able to stand on their own.

The Fury of Firestorm #5

When DC relaunched its line of comic books in Sept. 2011, a plethora of characters previously without titles were given new life with books of their own. Many of the principle characters featured in Brightest Day have been featured, notably as identical or slightly intensified versions of themselves. In the case of Firestorm title, the writers have had to tackle the issue of including both Jason Rusch and Ronnie Raymond as the main characters in the book. Justice League Dark #4

With the DC reboot, the company took a bit of a step backwards in expanding the Justice League family tree, similarly extending their line as they did with the old JLI and JLE books. Justice League Dark (JLD) adds a bit of a twist to the concept, bringing together many of the DCU's notable magicians, sorcerers and mystics to tackle the world's biggest magic-based threats. What happens though when DC's brightest heroes fall short of stopping a threat like a deranged, positively insane Enchantress? Who are you going to call? John Constantine, Deadman, Shade, Madame Xanadu and Zatanna, that's who.

Green Lantern Corps #4

A mysterious force has been killing Green Lanterns left and right and John and Guy have taken a team deep into space to end this intergalactic threat. The team arrives on the planet Xabas, only to come face-to-face with the Keepers. The Keepers quickly dispatch many of the Lanterns and gain the upper hand and force Guy and John to call a retreat. Many of them transport back to Oa using one of the present Lantern's natural teleportation powers, but they quickly find that Stewart and a small number of Lanterns have been left behind to fight for their lives.

November Sales Up

Diamond Comic Distributors released their November numbers for comic book and graphic novel sales. Marvel rebounded from the trouncing DC Comics gave them back in October, the two giant comic publishers are now neck and neck both in unit share and dollar share.

Green Lantern #3

Spiraling out of the events of The War of the Green Lanterns, the Green Lantern title found itself in uncharted territory with long-time GL antagonist Sinestro back in the green and black. Volume five of Green Lantern is now three issues into its run, all with the greatest Green Lantern (villain) at the helm of the title. The question is whether the title is still holding its weight as a story.
