Good news and semi-good news for us Spidey-fans out there. Movieline has stated that John Malkovich is slated to play the Vulture while Anne Hathaway is going to be playing Felicia Hardy. And that’s where things begin to get a bit wonky. John Malkovich has got the look to play the role of a crazed old man for sure and Anne Hathaway could probably do a good job as Felicia Hardy even. But most Marvel fans know that Felicia Hardy’s alter ego is the Black Cat, a seductive partner of sorts to Spider-Man. But according to rumors, Felicia Hardy will be the “Vulturess” a female version of the Vulture.
The 27-year-old actress is currently the top choice for Felicia Hardy, who’d been long-rumored as one of the new characters in this installment. (Other names bandied about for the role included Julia Stiles, Rachel McAdams, and Romola Garai.) However, unlike in the comic books, this Felicia Hardy doesn’t transform into the Black Cat. Instead, Raimi’s Felicia will become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess.
Really? How could this possibly seem like a good idea? Please please let this by a miscommunication.
