I started working on a Graphic Novel some two years ago. As of this writing I can tell you that is is completely penciled and inked. All 97 pages of it.
So this post is basically an exercise at shameless self promotion.I admit it!
The story is called Splashdown. It takes place in the early 1960’s at the height of the Cold war and shortly after the launch of the Sputnik satellite by the Soviets!
The space race is on! The tale is about putting together a team that will be hiding in plain site.On one hand for all the world to see, is the effort to orbit the planet using conventional means with a plan to reach the moon by the end of the decade, and a secondary more ambitious venture going directly to the moon to harness the vast mineral riches that awaits the country that can reach it first!
There is love, hate and intrigue and hopefully enough surprises to get and keep your interest!
I am just getting ready to start the actual writing of the dialogue and will then have to add the dialogue, word balloons and sound effects to the scanned artwork and finish the story.
Now the one thing I can’t do is color it. I’m color blind. So if you are an aspiring colorist, and you are looking for some exposure, this could be your lucky day! I am opening the door to anyone that is interested, to try their hand at coloring Splashdown! I will send you a few pages to try out on and hopefully we will find someone who is compatible and excited about the opportunity!
Where will this lead? It is a tough nut to crack, this marketplace ,but you never know until you try. I will be serializing the entire story here on CBD and will try to shop it around as well. Nothing ventured , nothing gained!
You can send me your email at my Comicdenn Facebook page or here at [email protected]
I have attached a couple of pencil pages and then the inked pages and I hope that this opportunity excites someone out there!
All the best and continued happy collecting!
Fantastic Dennis! I wish I was young and still had the energy like you.
Charlie,…I laughed out loud at your comment!
Thanks
Great stuff! Best of luck finding a colourist – look forward to reading the finished work!
Thanks KiwiDan for the words of encouragement!
