Don’t worry, It’s nearly the end of January and I’m told “there will always be a Spring”.
If we take that literally, the sky will soon be blue again, trees will once again have actual leaves on them and nerds everywhere will gather at convention centers dressed as heroes and armed with sweaty-handed requests for our idols.
Here’s a list of what’s going on in the UK this year. The first event is only weeks away so, pack a lunch and gather your crap. We’re off to see the wizard.

Some of these events will be a lot of fun, some of these events will be useful for wannabe creators (myself included) and some of these events will be rubbish. Fact.

Stan Lee was in attendance last year. Good fun and a good opportunity to meet and interact with creators.

More fun than useful. Fun is good.
Top of my list would’ve been Kapow! and it’s a real shame it’s on hold until next year. Easily the best show from last year in my opinion. Let’s just hope it come back, bigger and better in 2014.
Shout below if you’re planning to visit any of these; we’ll chew the fat.
What’s the deal with Kapow? Sounded like a good show last year.
It’s Mark Millar’s show and ‘Millarworld Productions’ doesn’t have the resources apparently. It was amazing last year!
“We’ve had to make a very tough decision, and after much deliberation and poring over upcoming work schedules, we have decided to put Kapow! 2013 on hold,” Lucy Unwin said in a statement. “The event is a genuine pleasure to work on and everyone has been a total delight, but this year we are unable to dedicate the time necessary to deliver a weekend that once again exceeds the expectations of attendees, guests, exhibitors, publishers and studios.”
Seems a shame to just let it go…
