That’s two weeks in a row where I’ve not had the time to rummage through the “going to eBay auction” pile on the weekend, doing so on a Saturday sets up this weekly post I write on Sunday evening, but now I’ll have to scramble and get the auction pulls done on Tuesday. It really is all about balance and having a full social calendar on the weekend is a good thing, these are things my wife reminds me of.
Luckily I took a quick pic while I was visiting a new auction consignor last Thursday, I brought back with me about 500 amazing old comics, mostly late 40s and early 50s, lots of War, lots of Westerns, lots of Pre Code Horror and a nice mix of rare Canadian Editions from the era, these beauties will start seeing our icecollectibles eBay auction starting Thursday March 13th.

While we’re on cheerful news, it looks like we’ve broken winter here in Southern Ontario. Over the next two weeks it calls for a couple of days cracking 10C (50F) while the nighttime lows dipping just a bit below freezing, this is a big event for me. Next weekend Daylight Savings Time kicks in so the days will get longer and warmer, I’m feeling better already, you’ll soon see it in my productivity, aka, pics of the sorting pit.
Did everyone see the Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.8 sell on ComicLink last week? It sold on auction for $125,000 USD and my text feed was pinging off the hook about the result. That same ComicLink auction saw a bunch of the rarer and scarcely traded CGC 9.8 late Silver and early Bronze Age Amazing Spider-Man issues sell at record prices. I’ve mentioned that some of our recent icecollectibles eBay auction results were good market signs and I think ComicLink’s banner week will excite the hobby, we may see some more investors slowly wading back in over the coming months, I’ll be watching closely.
I still owe you some pics of the big warehouse sorting centre, things are hot and heavy in the sorting pit but I’m sure by now you don’t believe me, I’ll have to post some pics to redeem myself, I think I’ll take a bunch of pics during the week, just incase a couple of surprise brunches await next weekend.
Last night our latest icecollectibles weekly eBay auction closed with some great results. It’s nice to see the power of the old Marvel Cross Over at work. we put up this nice set of Fantastic Four #166 and 167, the ones with the Hulk cross overs, they did great, closing at $97 USD.
