Canuckle Head

Our Canadiana auction is locked, loaded and live, click here to see all the goodness. I believe this is our 5th Canadiana eBay auction and I also believe we’ve never had the depth of WECA (Canadian Whites) and FECA books that we have in this auction, some ridiculously rare items indeed. Our showpiece book is the stunning CGC 9.0 Jewish War Heroes, published by the Canadian Jewish Congress in 1944, there has never been a recorded sale of this item and I don’t recall it ever being offered for sale. Please take some time and peruse all our auction lots. Oh and lets give it the honor of Cover of the Week.

Scroll down below the ICE eBay auction result highlight to see more pics of books available in this auction.

Contingency plans, we all need some. Here’s the last pic of that small room I’ve crammed with long boxes full of comics, note that I’ve left a little area just big enough to crawl into and have a nice nap, nobody will find me in there, but I just gotta watch I don’t burn my feet.

Our ad of the week comes from Iron Man #19, check out the top left with the yellow highlight. I’ve been preaching the importance of comic book covers for the last decade and here I see an ad that offers custom covers that you design! I wonder how many guys sent away pictures of their girlfriends in Wonder Woman costumes for this ad? We need someone to find a Pintrest post where a bunch of these covers are available for all to see. Its a great idea and a terrible idea all at the same time. Oh and please note that ad at the bottom right where you can send away for instructions on how to get a he-man voice. OK, lets take this right to its natural end, the guy that didn’t send away for the he-man voice sent a pic of himself for his custom comic cover, the guy that sent in for the he-man voice sent away a pic of his girlfriend and her sister for his custom comic cover.

I forgot to take a splash pic but I had this ad that’s almost as good. From the back cover of Better Comics Vol 5 #9 (up live now on our Canadiana auction) we get this great ad calling the good citizens of Canada to buy War Stamps for the war effort. Great ad!

Our latest weekly icecollectibles eBay auction ended last night with lots of late bidding activity. It was nice to see our raw copy or Amazing Spider-Man #12 perform well, our copy earned $480.50 USD, we graded it a tight 5.0. We’re working hard to get more quality raws up for auction, they are definitely exciting auctions!

With a name like Eugene Feuchtinger, he had to develop a he-man voice. I’ve already got a half-dozen takes on that name worked out. I was getting ready to buy a ticket to Chicago just to use them, but it seems I missed him. His work lives on:

When is that Chris Owen bloke coming back to teach you a thing or two about comics? I like that guy!
