Auction Highlights #44

Advantage Seller

A regular reader of my Auction Highlights sent me this link. I like it and I’ll break with the tradition of highlighting just graded comics to report it to you.

Betty and Me #16, Archie Comics (September/68) Ungraded and in rat chewed condition sold for $51.75 on eBay on September 10^th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 2.0 is $4.00. Unfortunately this copy is at best a 1.0 which would give it a guide value of $2.00. The seller was a savvy guy though; check part of his description below;

“As for why people want this this comic, well, it’s all about the caption on the cover.  Here’s an article about it online:

That’s right, he wisely referenced our Sleepy Censor article on the comic. I’m sure our EiC Pete is going to email him and ask for a commission!
