I was scanning eBay results and I found some very strong sales happening this past week. I also found deals!
Avengers #11, Marvel Comics (12/64) Graded by CGC at 9.2 with Off White pages sold for $1,093.00 on eBay on May 26th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 9.2 is $650.00. This issue has always been highly collected. There are a fair bit of CGC 9.4s and CGC 9.6s available so the close to double guide finish kind of surprised me. I guess the double whammy of an early Avengers issue and an early Spidey cross-over is just too hard to resist. Advantage seller.
Action Comics #4, DC Comics (9/38) Graded by CGC at 5.0 with Light Tan to Off White pages sold for $5,219.91 on eBay on June 2nd. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 5.0 is $4,117.50. This is a powerful book! These very early Actions bring bragging rights to all who own them. About 25% above guide even seems low but I know that the Light Tan pages dragged the price down for this copy. Still, I’d take a Light Tan Action #4 to a White almost anything else. Advantage buyer.
More Fun #101, DC Comics (1-2/45) Graded by CGC at 9.0 with Cream to Off White pages sold for $5,750.00 eBay on May 30th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 9.0 is $11,201.00. This comic features the origin and first appearance of Superboy. This one had to have hurt. This is just over ½ guide for a high grade DC Golden Age key! More Fun is a very collectible title and Superboy is a solid character that will be around for a while. Advantage buyer.
Tales of Suspense #39, Marvel Comics (3/63) Graded by CGC at 7.5 Signature Series (Stan Lee, Gene Colan) with Cream to Off White pages sold for $11,520.00 eBay on May 27th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 7.5 is $4,500.00. Over two and a half times guide mostly because of the signatures. I think it’s great to have Stan Lee sign one of the big Marvel keys that he helped create. This book will continue to appreciate in the guide and I think it is a solid long term investment. Advantage buyer.
Some strong results are still coming out of eBay and if you look hard enough you’ll find some great deals.
