Pep Rally

This week Chris and Walt hold a big pep rally for comic book collecting. The boys brought their positive attitudes and sunny dispositions with them for this pep rally, Chris even brought his pom poms.

Please let us know what you thought of the show. We encourage you to add comments in the comments section provided below; all we ask is that you keep things civil.

Well? Can you contribute to this pep rally?

  1. oh lord! even as you said it…i thought ‘no, please don’t try the accent’ and I think I speak for everyone when I say we all regret you going forward with that decision!

I think we need to bring back the undervalued comic column!

This week I’ve decided that Giant Size X-Men #2 is a great book – great cover, reprints some of the best early era X-Men (Neal Adams), satisfies those people that believe size matters (I think they commonly referred to as ‘Size Queens’). I’m after a nice, tight copy!

The other book that has definitely started to see sunshine is Punisher #1 – for years it sat behind Wolverine #1 – both in LTD series, both late 80’s icons (created in the 70’s). Now prices seem to be on the up for Punisher and finding one is quite hard.

  2. We need you to send in a 15 second audio of the heaviest local Melbourne slag Spider, we’ll practive off that.

And you are right, we need to bring back the Spotlight, this time it should be a shared burden with you guys submitting posts as well, we’ll standardize the simple structure of the post and away we all go!! Will this work??

Oh, and totally agree on the limited Punisher, that 1-5 set goes for good money now.

  3. If the whiskey distillers send you another bottle think of it as a bribe to never use an accent in a show endorsing their product!
While you know I am liquidating most of my collection I have done exactly what you have described and am collecting an overlooked golden age series known for their painted covers by the same artists who did pulp covers for years! How’s that for keeping it a hinted at secret?
An enjoyable show with one problem… it was too short!
