I found Walt’s ‘Undervalued Spotlight’ column to be very influential; firstly it highlighted books that were outside of my immediate field of view, and secondly, it made me consider why certain books are collectable – that holistic approach to looking at books has certainly helped keep me focused during the past 2 years of booming prices – when you upderstand what the fundamentals are then you can see the books that are a mirage and their values are a temporary illusion.
Whilst I don’t celebrate Thanks-giving down here, on this day I’d like to give thanks to Walt – his Herculean effort of nearly 500 comic issues formally dissected and providing many hours of entertainment and education to us all! Thank you WD!
Golly gee Spider, thanks. That was a good run and I too learned a lot during the process. I’ve been wanting to resurect that in a different, more casual form but can’t seem to get the mechanism down.
