  2. To briefly nitpick:  the Phantom was never a pulp character. He was a newspaper strip guy (he was created because the King Features Syndicate wanted another hit after Lee Falk’s success with Mandrake The Magician).  I heard it and I thought “Did Chris mean The Shadow?  Yeah….yeah he meant the Shadow…….who also wasn’t originally a pulp guy. He actually started on the radio, but got a secret identity, origin etc once he went to the pulps, which then got semi-translated back into the radio show.  Man, I have too much useless info in my head…..”

  3. Wow! Good job on the old characters. I actually was thinking about the Shadow but it turns out, I was wrong on that account too.
