  1. The embargo lifted for both Aquaman and Spider-Man earlier this week and reviews for both films are extremely positive. Critics are saying that Aquaman is the best (or second best) film that DC has produced, and James Wan is being touted as having reset DC.

But the film that interests me the most is Sony’s animated Spider-Man, which many critics are calling the best Spider-Man film… ever. I know that older collectors like to dismiss new Marvel but this film will be introducing Mile Morales and Spider-Gwen to the greater public. I’m surprised there isn’t more chatter about this within the community since their first public appearance will legitimize these characters within the hearts and minds of the movie going public. Also, after the success of Venom, and now animated Spider-Man… Amy Pascal has redeemed her self from the Sony hack controversy, giving her more leverage against Kevin Feige. Sony suddenly has a blockbuster Spider franchise and is already talking about an all female Spider film. So speculators, hang on to your Silk and Jessica Drew books.

BumbleBee is the third movie of interest. Transformers has been floundering at the box office so this much smaller film, directed by Ted Knights son will be interesting to follow. Iron Giant anyone?

I can’t wait to see all 3 films with my kids.
