The Phantom #67 – Charlton Comics, October 1975 – Artist: Don Newton.
The Phantom #67 started a beutiful little run of painted covers, I always loved this one by the great Don Newton

Charlton doesn’t -and never did – get much love .And for good reason. But there were always some gems in their line up. Nice cover.
I am a bit late on responding to this but I would like to know how your readers feel about painted covers and what some of their favorites are. I collect pulps to a lesser degree and a few pulp artists crossed over into comics. My personal favorite which I own is Fawcett’s Worlds of Fear #10 with a Saunders cover… one of the heavy weights in the pulp genre.
