Covered 365: Day 54

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

Day 54 – Iron Man #54, January 1973, Artist – Gil Kane.

One of my all time favourite Bronze Age covers, classic battle cover in that square frame Marvel Bronze Age style I love so much.

  1. I haven’t kept up with my picks because I’ve been traveling, but in definite agreement on this one. This exercise has convinced me that Kane covers are up there with Adams covers. I would not say the same about the interior art, as I think Kane was much worse with faces and inanimate objects (e.g. Adams’s space armadas from the Kree-Skrull War were fantastic). I plan to review as many Kane covers as possible and try to pick up a few bargains.

  2. I guess I’ll break from the pack here and say that in terms of anatomy and proportion it is not one of Kane’s best. And why aren’t we looking up anyone’s nose. Now that would be Kane.
