I have mixed feelings about this one. Before I am attacked I want to point out that I was prepared to shell out $$$ for this book last year, but somebody else shelled out $$$$$$ and that was that. So I am a big fan. But in my opinion this is close to the line between comics and men’s magazines or underground comix, which would significantly broaden the choices. Nevertheless no argument that it is a really standout cover.
I have less time on the weekends than during the week to think about this, but I love it and I am going to try to keep up. From what I was able to review, here are five picks for #6:
DC Special (this feature is really sensitizing me to the quality of Adams’s Western art)
Nick Fury
Shadow Comics v3
Sub-Mariner
Web of Evil
I thought about Shock Suspenstories, but we had Suspense #3.
Also following up on #2, Warlock v2 and Warlock Special Edition are both fantastic with original Starlin riffs on the subject.
I really like the Nick Fury and Sub-Mariner #6s as well and Hulk #6 was considered.
