  3. I know that you make a big deal about Valentine’s Day so I guess I can accept this. Given the fixed correspondence of #45 to Valentine’s, I think some serious effort should be put into identifying the best #45 covers matching the theme. I made a first pass. I think you need to open your mind a bit more from the traditional – so far I’m thinking Adventures of the Outsiders, First Romance, or even Sad Sack’s Funny Friends.

    I also worked out my #48 picks that are less than spectacular. There are actually many #48s that would make stellar #45s:

    Alf
    Archie’s Joke Book
    Archie & Friends Featuring Josie and the Pussycats

    and especially Love Diary #48

    Finally Superboy #48 strikes me as one of the most bizarre covers out there, and it could be argued that it as well could have made a good #45.
