Amazing Spider-Man #313, Marvel Comics, March 1898. Artist: Todd McFarlane.
It was really tight between the Hulk cover and the Spidey cover but in the end I thought I’d award the originality and ferociousness of Todd McFarlane’s cover to Amazing Spider-Man #313.
Mike Mignola’s cover to Hulk #313 is indeed epic, an amazing homage to the great Frank Frazetta.
Keith Giffen continues to impress me, I really like the look he gives us on the cover of Legion of Superheroes #313.
A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.
That is one of the better Giffens but I still wouldn’t hold it up as anything great – I don’t get what you like about his covers.
Almost nothing for #314, but John Byrne finally turns in an over-the-top great cover for Incredible Hulk. Maybe more of a poster, but what a poster! A distant runner-up to Uncanny X-Men mainly for the colors.
No JOWAs but Action is close with that costume, and how is it that Superman is worried about freezing in space? I know he didn’t fly until #123, but I thought by #314 he was regularly flying around the Solar System.
I like these covers! The Legion cover is drawn well… I think the coloring makes it a bit muddled though. Chris… Supes is changing into the Flash…thats why he is worried!
Todd McFarlane’ was very good, when he just drew and didn’t write the Title. But once he he became writer and artist…his work went in the tank…..supporting evidence Spider-man vol #1 1990….
