Covered 365: Day 304

Thor #304, Marvel Comics, February 1981. Artist: Keith Pollard.

Today I liked Keith Pollard’s Thor against the world cover for Thor #304.

I’ve seem many of these cute Marvel cover but I think Dale Keown’s take on Wolverine #304 super fun to look at and enjoy.

I’m making up for not including House of Mystery yesterday, cover #340 is a strong Kaluta offering, plus I had to include it being Halloween!

Always the sucker for the battle cover, I thought Kieron Dwyer’s job on Avengers #304 worthy of menton.

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

  1. Outside of the Wrecker not sure who those other villains are but I like the cover. If I was a Wolverine collector… I would have skipped that month. HoM reminds me of Clive Barkers ‘The Thief of Always’ so gets points for that! Avenger’s would have been better if the battle had actually started rather then ABOUT to start.

  2. I have always loved McFarlane’s cover of Amazing Spider-Man #304,and will stick with it as my favorite of the day. To me it is the costume that is the star of the cover, as this cover marks the transition back to the classic red & blue costume and full break from the black costume.

Liked the Thor #304 cover, but not sure what to make of today’s other selections highlighted by Walt – the HofM and Avengers are OK, but certainly not standouts. I missed the Wolverine cover completely on my initial review of the day’s covers – probably because I thought it was the cover to a kids coloring book.
