Batman #286, DC Comics, April 1977. Artist: Jim Aparo.
I think Day 286 is one of the best cover days we’ve had in weeks, lots of strong contenders.
Jim Aparo edges out Mike Zeck with his double Joker cover on Batman #286, this is a highly collected cover and for good reason.
Mike Zeck comes down a notch today but it was hard not giving him the glory for his great effort on the cover of Captain America #286.
Hard not to like Rich Buckler’s efforts of World’s Finest #286, evokes all those hooded secret society Golden Age covers.
I have no idea why we should be afraid or even the least bit concerned with the Rainbow Raider but I like rainbows so I included the cover.
Bill Wright art = quality art, he makes it look so easy, check out the subtle qualities of his cover to Four Color #286.
A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.
While those are all great cover the Batman and the Cap covers are outstanding. What I want to know is… could the Rainbow Warrior be Dazzlers DC cousin??
Made the escape from Tokyo (just in front of the super-villain Hagibis), rested up a day, and hopefully I can keep a streak going.
Agreed on the choice and the runner-up, but I am not so hot on the others. If I had to take a Disney for the day it would be Donald Duck, but I wouldn’t choose any of them. Answer: The Rainbow Raider is The King of Color from Action #89 – but I know you can’t pass something like this up.
For tomorrow it’s yet another Zeck as pick with Captain America. Fantastic colors on this one. Thor is pretty good but not great.
Not seeing a JOWA but I keep going back to Detective and marveling at that art. It’s like something that a kid sketched while he was supposed to be listening to his seventh grade teacher.
Oh come on Chris … Detective 287 isn’t that bad…. errr….unmmm…. yikes…. it really is isn’t it….
Well timed exit Chris, hope things went well on the trip… and yes Tec 287 is bad!
