Covered 365: Day 19

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

Day 119 – Chamber of Chills #19, Artist –the Grand Comic Database is confused whether its Lee Elias or Warren Kremer.

Chamber of Chills #19 offers hope for all cover hounds. The cover has obviously been around forever but only in the last 2 years has it shot up to become one of the darlings of the Pre Code Horror collecting strain. What’s the next Chamber of Chills #19?

  1. Walt, surprised no one has mentioned this yet…
The cover’s art was repurposed by Glenn Danzig for a Misfits single, first released in 1984:

I’m not sure if that’s the reason for the increase in just the last two years, but I guarantee you more people have seen the Misfits version in the past 35 years, on T-shirts etc. worn by members of Metallica and other bands, than ever saw this copy of Chamber of Chills. I’ve had one of those shirts since the early ’90s, and more recent versions can now be bought in stores such as Hot Topic.

  2. Heheh….as you know I’m a lot shorter and it wouldn’t fit you! You can probably find one on eBay for $100-200. Danzig and the Misfits have a huge cult following and those vintage early ’90s shirts have become collectible in themselves.
