Covered 365: Day 140

Adventure Comics #140, DC Comics, May 1949 – Artist: Win Mortimer.

I wasn’t sure if Adventure Comics #140 was going to get the JOWA or the headline but in the end I decided I really like this cover, the deep blacvks would make a high grade high gloss copy something to behold.

I really likes Amazing Spider-Man #14 and X-Men #140. Fighting Army #140 had the right idea and Unexpected #140 was … Unexpected.

JOWA goes to Secret Hearts, call me old fashioned but for me the girls should be prettier than the boys.

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

  1. I looked at a copy of this recently as late Golden Age Superman/ Superboy comics appear to be the most affordable hero books out there. There are a number of much better Superboy covers but if course not numbered 140. You didn’t like Superman giving a bear hug on Action 140 Walt? As for my pick…Incredible Hulk 140

  2. I have always had soft spot for DC Golden Age covers with Superman or Batman, so no complaints on today’s selection, although I agree with Gerald and would rank several Superboy covers ahead of this one.

If I had a vote, I would cast it for the Wendigo cover of X-Men #140 as the top selection for today.

  3. That Wendigo cover is sweet Derrick and would have been a worthy pick and I missed tha Action #140 but I still would have went with the Suberboy party.
