Covered 365: Day 125

Amazing Spider-Man #125, Marvel Comics, October 1973 – Artist: John Romita.

Free Comic Book Day today at the shop, crazy busy and I’m a bit winded from the hard fought day. It might be my fatigue but I was disappointed at the Day #125 crop. I had two contenders going into the post, Marge’s Little Lulu #125 was fun and I really liked it but I went with Amazing Spider-Man #125. Maybe Spider-Man #124 deserved the nod yesterday too, both Romita Man-Wolf covers are great.

Tomahawk is an automatic option lately and I really liked Avengers #125.

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

Amazing Spider-Man #124 and #125 are both fantastic covers, but my bias for Marvel Bronze Age covers also extends to any Thanos cover so Avengers #125 has always been on my display board at home.

A real nice cover Walt. But an all time great? I think tying the cover # to the day sequence really limits the great covers exposed here. Having noted those limitations… Jungle comics #125 and Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies #125 are better choices and add variety to this limiting format

And Derrick…your choice of Avengers 125 is awesome and timely considering Avengers just made 2 billion at the box office

Really, Walter! Nowhere on my hit parade, sorry. But you get kudos anyway, balancng this and FCBD. I don’t like Jungle #125 either, I feel there are much better covers in the run. But Avengers #125 would have worked for me, and Lulu #125 is a delight, its so quintessential Lulu.

My kids thank you for all the support for Avengers #125. I wanted to talk my own book and pick it, but objectivity got the better of me.

#126 a particularly bad number. Even Tomahawk doesn’t get my vote. Thor wins by default.
