Covered 354: Day 48

A great comic book cover matching each day of the year, 1 through 365. Please chime in with your favourite corresponding cover, from any era.

Day 48 – Planet Comics #48, May 1947, Artist – Joe Doolin.

How could we have come this far without a Planet Comics cover? Planet Comics #48 may be my favorite of the bunch

While Planet 48 is a great cover, my favorite #48 will always be Fantastic Four 48. What Ihave always found compelling about it is the unseen that our intrepid characters are reacting to. I know others have down played this cover it made me as a youth WANT to see what they saw…and I was not disappointed!

Planet had so many great covers, but my very favorite remains #73. It reminds me of Wally Wood’s Incredible Science Fiction #33, another icon for every kid’s romantic notions of life in space.

But even better than Woody’s cover, in its way, here’s a lady with all the gear, in battle, yet. I hope you grab at least one or more covers that Maurice Whitman did, like this one, for the last two years on many Fiction House titles. His work was quintessential cover art at at its best. Whitman was in the zone. https://www.comics.org/issue/10188/
